Team Dine-Out:
A January Gratitude Event
It was a much-needed “Better Together” time with our team. To kickstart the year, we decided to host a January Gratitude event – and what better way to do that than over chicken wings? The different teams dined out with their respective leadership coaches and teammates at their favorite chicken wings restaurant, and it was a great opportunity for them to build relationships face-to-face again. From icebreaker questions to getting to know each other better, here’s what happened during this memorable event.
Icebreaker Questions
At the team dine-out, everyone participated in an icebreaker round of questions. This was an effortless way for everyone present to learn more about one another outside of work! Questions ranged from “What was your childhood dream job?” to “If there’s no chance of failure, what is that one thing you’d do?” It was fun, lighthearted, and engaging – perfect for building relationships amongs colleagues!
Getting To Know Each Other Better
The second part of the activity involved getting to know each other better. Everyone had 3 minutes each to share interesting facts about themselves which were not related to work. This gave everyone an insight into one another on a more personal level. It also started conversations around common interests and hobbies which allowed team members and leadership coaches alike to bond over shared experiences.
This activity boosted collaboration between team members, as well as communication between different teams. Working together towards a common goal created synergy among all present which helped strengthen relationships between colleagues.
Spending quality time together with coworkers away from the office allowed everyone present to build strong relationships with one another in an informal setting. It was definitely filled with laughter and fond memories – all thanks to chicken wings! And that’s why we think it’s always good (and delicious) idea when it comes down building teams!
