Tax Specialist I – Client Maintenance | Office-based, Night Shift Job | Up to PHP30K

 

GoTeam is seeking a competent Tax Specialist I – Client Maintenance. This role will provide support to the client’s payroll tax service clients. The position is responsible for maintaining our client profile setup for the submission of tax filings and payments. In addition, to assist with the compliant and timely filing of required quarterly and annual tax returns.

Your client is a Texas-based business that provides human capital management software and services to more than 60,000 small and medium businesses. They offer a range of services, including time and attendance tracking and payroll and tax processing, all the way to a fully outsourced HR department.

 

In this position, you will be:

  • Collaborating in a team environment
  • Ensuring that the appropriate documentation (for clients and agencies) is updated such as Power of Attorney and submitted to tax agencies electronically.
  • Assisting in client set up of new tax types/ agencies, proper and compliant receipt of authorizations and TPA assignments, and ID number updates. This includes annual SUI rate update handling to ensure accurate UI payments for quarter-end processing, frequency updates for timely withholding payments, and basic ID number updates/ resolution of ‘applied situations.
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reporting within timely established deadlines. The quarterly and Annual Tax filing process includes managing controls for all clients to be included in each filing cycle, preparing returns, setup up return and package delivery options, and aiding in additional billing. Assists with notification and collection of quarter-end adjustments.
  • Completing special projects and coordinating with the manager on the progress that meets the service of being able to file and remit tax filings/payments.

 

Some nice-to-have skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 Year of payroll tax payment and/or filing experience.
  • Minimum H.S. diploma/GED equivalent. A college degree is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Advanced excel and payroll software skills.
  • Multi-state and multi-client local taxation experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Outlook, Evolution Payroll software (preferred, but not required), or other payroll tax software experience.
  • Strong communication skills- written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a performance-based and structured environment with demonstrating high ethical standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply basic concepts in new situations.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Participation in continuing education with the American Payroll Association to obtain knowledge of current payroll tax regulations, or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) standing is nice to have.
  • The employee will be expected to deliver timely and accurate results.
