Staff Accountant | Hybrid, Night Shift Job | Up to PHP35,000
GoTeam is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will assist in various financial activities, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and distribution. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing complex account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting the Accounting Manager with special projects and other assigned duties.
Your client is a free cost-savings automation and analytics platform that helps businesses control and reduce shipping expenses. The platform analyzes historical shipping data, identifies costly shipping inefficiencies, and supports the resolution of those issues.
In this position, you will be:
- Assisting in the preparation, review, analysis, and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Conducting comprehensive variance analyses and preparing complex account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Collaborating with the team to help lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring efficient and accurate completion.
- Reviewing journal entries made by accounting staff, verifying their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconciling sub-ledger accounts to the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Supporting the management of the Ready Pay program, including processing and monitoring transactions.
- Assisting in budgeting and tax preparation projects, providing financial insights and analysis as needed.
- Maintaining and preparing journal entries, reports, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to support financial reporting requirements.
- Taking ownership of special projects assigned by the Accounting Manager, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of fixed asset schedules, supporting proper accounting and depreciation processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
- At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in Accounting.
- Proficiency in accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong desire to continue personal and professional growth through continuous improvement and training.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- Experience in adhering to auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data accurately.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions based on available information.
- Amenable to work in the office located in Cebu City, Cebu for two months.
Must be willing to work on-site for the first two (2) months from the start date, and subsequently transition to a hybrid work arrangement, consisting of working from the office on certain days located in Cebu City, Cebu.
