Payroll Officer | Hybrid, Day Shift Job | Up to PHP40,000

 

GoTeam is looking for a Payroll Officer to join the team. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees, remittance of payroll taxes, and preparation of essential payroll statements. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Officer plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with payroll laws, maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information, and contributing to the smooth financial operations of the company.

In this position, you will be:

  • Gathering, computing, and inputting data accurately to ensure the maintenance and timely updating of payroll information.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages, providing detailed insights and analysis.
  • Assessing payroll obligations by calculating employee income taxes, social security taxes, employer’s social security contributions, unemployment taxes, and workers’ compensation payments.
  • Processing payroll and ensuring timely and accurate payment of employees.
  • Remitting payroll taxes and completing necessary government reporting.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements.
  • Utilizing payroll systems or HRIS (Ashima or any other relevant system) for efficient processing.
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Demonstrating good communication skills when interacting with clients and internal team members.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BSA) or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Payroll processing and possessing a strong understanding of payroll procedures and laws.
  • Exhibit advanced Excel skills for accurate data management.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Knowledge in using payroll systems or HRIS such as Ashima is a Plus
  • Apply knowledge and experience in the BPO industry to handle payroll operations effectively
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills while engaging with clients and collaborating with colleagues across different teams.
  • Ability to handle and protect confidential information.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods of payroll processing.
  • Maintain flexibility in schedule, including waiting for cutoff periods and working night shifts.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with a keen eye for accuracy.

 

Must be willing to work in a hybrid work arrangement, consisting of working from the office on certain days located in Cebu City, Cebu.
